Maria Gasslitter

Two freestylers are causing a sensation

Maria Gasslitter and Nicole Bazzanella - these are two names that need to be remembered in freestyler circles for the future. At the weekend, one provided brilliant performances on skis, while the other cut a strong figure on the snowboard. The new national champions in the Super-G were also crowned at the Alpine events on Monday.

The young freestyler aces were in action last week in Livigno, where a stage of the World Rookie Tour (FIS Junior) was taking place. Maria Gasslitter from Castelrotto was able to prevail among the young women in the freeski slopestyle and celebrate her first success in the junior area of the FIS. The 17-year-old, who is a member of the national squad, relegated the Estonian Simona Revjagin and the Norwegian Nora Wold Lunner to the places of honor. The best result for the boys was achieved by Elia Hofer, who finished 11th overall. In the under-15 category, Ryo Scherlin came in sixth place (18th overall), while Liam Gamper followed immediately behind in seventh place (29th overall).

A stage of the Italian Cup was held in Prato Nevoso. Snowboarder Nicole Bazzanella particularly stood out, winning slopestyle in the “Allievi” age group and taking second place in big air. In the “Aspiranti” category, however, Marian Brunner (10th in Slopestyle, 18th in Big Air) and Guido Rossi (21st in Slopestyle, 16th in Big Air) took part.
