8th game, 8th win: Chiefs win thanks to Hopkins

Thanks to two touchdowns from new signing DeAndre Hopkins, the Kansas City Chiefs remain the only undefeated team in the NFL.

In his second game for the defending champions and hosts, Hopkins scored the first and last touchdown in regular time. In the 30:24 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, however, it was Kareem Hunt's touchdown that decided the game, as the visitors equalized to 27:24 with 24 seconds left and forced overtime.

Hunt also played a major role in the Chiefs' eighth win of the season in eight games, with 106 yards rushing. But the man of the night was neither he nor quarterback Patrick Mahomes nor the equally strong Travis Kelce, who was cheered by his girlfriend Taylor Swift for 100 yards rushing - but Hopkins. "He showed me that he can win the 1-on-1 duels. When he gets them, he wins," praised Mahomes. Hopkins caught eight of the nine balls thrown to him and recorded 86 yards.

The Chiefs had only signed the veteran two weeks ago due to numerous injuries. "Words cannot describe it. It's a dream come true in this stadium," said Hopkins. "The coaches have prepared me so well. I come early and leave late."
