Nothing is happening in Bergamo: Storms spoil the fun

The Serie A match between Atalanta and Como scheduled for Monday evening had to be cancelled after being postponed several times. A heavy storm swept over Bergamo.

It had been pouring with rain in the province of Bergamo since Monday afternoon, and deep puddles had formed on the grass of the brand new Gewiss Stadium long before the game had even started. As a result, the start of the game was initially postponed from 20.45 p.m. Referee Tremolada, along with Atalanta captain De Roon and Como captain Cutrone, walked onto the deep pitch four times to test its suitability. In the end, however, the answer was: nothing will work.

The match between Europa League winners Atalanta and the promoted team coached by Cesc Fabregas was cancelled and rescheduled for Tuesday. The two Lombard league opponents will then have a new attempt at 20.45 p.m. The weather forecast for Tuesday is much better.
