FCS opponents' dugouts: big names in the conversation

It's the summer break in Serie B, but things are going really well behind the scenes. It's not just on the player market that people haggle and negotiate like crazy. Many coaching benches are also still unoccupied. The list of prominent candidates is long.

An Italian defender icon will be in the coaching bench at Reggiana next season. Alexander Nesta takes over with the newcomer from Reggio Emilia and is returning to the football field after more than two years of abstinence. Nesta has previously coached Perugia and Frosinone (both Serie B) in Italy. In addition, Miami FC was in the second division of the United States.

But Nesta is not the only big name who will train in Serie B next season. His former Milan teammate Filippo Inzaghi is courted by relegated Sampdoria. The ex-striker is still under contract in Reggio Calabria. By the way: Reggiana's promotion coach, Aimo Diana, is a candidate at Cosenza. The former FCS coach stood there last season William Viali on the sidelines. After staying in the league in the playout, he left Cosenza for Ascoli. Also Christian Lucarelli should be on the Cosenza list. In Terni it is already history. Aurelio Andreazzoli should take over. Practical for the Umbrians: Andreazzoli is already under contract because he was signed during the past season and then took a leave of absence again. A hot stock in the Serie B coaching market is Alberto Aquilani. The former national player was completely convincing as Fiorentina's U19 coach. Relegated Spezia and Pisa are next. But the Tuscans have it too Andrea Pirlo (last year in Turkey) not yet written off. And if all else fails, come along Daniele De Rossi a world champion has expressed his interest.
