“El Bati” is leaving FC Südtirol for South America

In the winter, Joaquin Larrivey – known as “El Bati” – moved from Cosenza to South Tyrol. After a mixed year, they parted ways. The Argentine will return to South America.

Last year, Pierpaolo Bisoli and Larrivey celebrated staying in the league together in Cosenza. That's why the now 38-year-old striker moved to Bolzano in the winter. But at FC Südtirol Larrivey could not take on the role he had at the Calabrese - especially since he had also been captain there. In 16 games for the White-Reds, Larrivey scored one goal from a penalty.

Now they part ways. The Argentine will return to South America. Larrivey has signed a contract with Chilean first division club Deportivo Magallanes. The club is currently bottom of the table and changed coaches at the end of May. A new coach, Mario Salas, who is very well known in South America, has taken over. Now Larrivey should also help keep the club in the first division of Chile.

More departures to be expected

Larrivey won't be the only FCS pro to say goodbye in the coming days. Giovanni Zaro will change. He has played his way into the notebooks of financially stronger clubs with an outstanding debut season in Serie B and is said to have already reached an agreement with a new club. Marco Curto is also on the shopping list for some teams and Matteo Rover has already received offers. In addition, assistant coach Leandro Greco will move to Olbia and take up his first position as head coach there. The future of Bisoli, however, is still unclear.
