FCS travels to Modena: “It’s not Valente against Bisoli”

Before the Serie B game on Saturday between Modena and FC Südtirol, everything revolves around a single topic: Pierpaolo Bisoli. Now the current coach of the White-Reds is trying to take the focus off the reunion with the former successful coach.

There are still four games left to play in the current second division season. Relegation is almost over, the playoff places are only two points away. But these days there is no discussion surrounding FC Südtirol about next year's league membership or possible promotion ambitions. The reason: The reunion with ex-coach Pierpaolo Bisoli.

On Saturday at 14 p.m. (in SportNews-Ticker) the time has come, then Bisoli will meet his former employer for the first time since the end in South Tyrol five months ago, whom he sensationally led to the playoff semi-finals last season. “We certainly don’t have a problem with Bisoli,” FCS sports director Paolo Bravo recently emphasized. The Modena coach himself recently tried to keep the ball flat and prepare his team as usual for the next championship game.

“I was impressed by how he conveyed his fire to the players.” Federico Valente on Pierpaolo Bisoli

The same applies to his successor on the FCS bench, Federico Valente, although he has to admit: “It was a special week.” However, the Italian-Swiss deliberately did not read any media reports and instead focused on the development of his players. “That’s ultimately what it’s about and not about the coaches. It's not Bisoli and Valente who are playing, but Modena and FC Südtirol." The coach of the White-Reds is looking forward to seeing him again: "I spent a week at Bisoli's side during pre-season preparation. I was impressed by how he conveyed his fire and passion for defending together to the players.”

Kurtic is injured

Valente will probably have to do without midfield star Jasmin Kurtic in Modena. He suffers from a knee injury. Kevin Vinetot and Hamza El Kaouakibi are available again. After the final training session on Friday afternoon, it will be decided who will make it into the squad. Immediately afterwards, the team will head south, where they will face Bisoli and their table neighbors from Modena, who have not won for eleven rounds, on Saturday.
