Without Buffon: Parma arrived in South Tyrol

Gianluigi Buffon is officially under contract with Parma until the summer of 2024. However, the goalkeeper legend did not travel to Vals with his club. The 45-year-old is about to retire. He could officially announce this in the coming days. According to media reports, Buffon wants to improve his English in the near future in order to take on a role in football management in the future.

In recent weeks, Buffon has rejected an immoral offer from Saudi Arabia. For a two-year contract he would have earned 30 million euros there. But Buffon is said to have decided to resign. In addition to Buffon, another well-known player, Franco Vazquez, has left Parma. The 34-year-old playmaker moved to Serie A relegated Cremonese on a free transfer.

Parma arrived in Vals on Sunday evening and completed their first training session on Monday morning. The club from Emilia-Romagna will be visiting South Tyrol for a week. As part of the training camp, Parma will test against German Bundesliga club VfL Bochum, who are currently training in Gais, on Saturday (17 p.m.) in Brixen.
