Pavia stops FC Südtirol's successful run

In an eventful first half, the home team deservedly took the lead in the 25th minute through Mattia Marchi, who beat the hopeless FCS keeper Miori from close range. Even after the 1-0 lead, Pavia were still in control, but with a lot of luck the white-reds were able to escape into the break without conceding another goal. Even after the break, the Lombards were the dominant team and consequently increased the score to 2-0 with Bellazini (71'). FCS coach Giovanni Stroppa reacted to the deficit and threw everything forward in the last few minutes, but the White-Reds couldn't do more than the goal from substitute Ettore Gliozzi (90th + 3/foul penalty). As a result of the defeat, FC Südtirol slipped back from 1st to 5th place in the table. The new league leaders are Virtus Bassano, who beat Albinoleffe 2-0.

On the third matchday of the Lega Pro Championship, the FCS suffered its first defeat of the season. The White-Reds, who traveled to Pavia as league leaders, lost 1-2.
