There's something going on on Pustertal's football pitches

There is currently a lot of activity on Pustertal's football pitches. Not only because amateur footballers are gradually starting to prepare for the new season. But also because a few professional teams are visiting the green valley these days.

RB Leipzig has been preparing for the new Bundesliga season in Reischach for two days. The German cup winner has the best quality team that will be visiting South Tyrol this summer. Josko Gvardiol is also there. The Croatian is Pep Guardiola's dream defender. The Catalan is desperate to guide Gvardiol to Manchester City this summer. But nothing has been signed yet, which is why the 21-year-old is fully committed to Reischach.

Just like Xavi Simons, whose talent is quickly apparent from a quick inspection of the training. The 20-year-old midfielder from the Netherlands came through FC Barcelona's famous youth academy "La Masia" and was recently loaned to Leipzig from PSG. What was also noticeable: sports director Max Eberl was not above helping with the goalkeeper training and hit a few crosses.

FC Bologna, however, said goodbye on Saturday. Marko Arnautovic & Co. have during the training camp in Vals also played a test match against the local regional league team Gitschberg Jochtal. Thiago Motta's team can definitely do well in this year's Serie A season. Bologna has been able to keep all top performers so far this summer. As part of the trip home, the club from Emilia Romagna will play a friendly against Serie B club Palermo on Saturday evening - in Rovereto.

Two more professional teams will be coming to Pustertal in the coming days. On Sunday, VfL Bochum (1st Bundesliga) travels to Gais and a day later Parma (Serie B) comes to Vals.
