Goddess Fortuna shows favor to the FCS - 2-1 win in Lumezzane

The first half in the pouring rain under the spotlights was football to get used to. Opportunities were few and far between on both sides. Although FC Südtirol was the team that dominated the game, the White-Reds were unable to create any really good opportunities. Only a Fink header (26') and Kirilov's shot from a tight angle (43') gave rise to anything resembling a goal threat.

Lumezzane, on the other hand, had a first chance with Varas in the 13th minute, but FCS goalie Miori was at his post and ironed out Mladen's previous mistake. In the 16th minute, Russini tried, but his shot from close range was too inaccurate.

Tulli nets right after the break

After the break, it took just 120 seconds for the FCS to celebrate. Cia served Tulli, who didn't hesitate for long and sank the ball to make it 1-0. After that, Lumezzane became a little more active, but the Stroppa protégés bravely resisted the pressure from the home team and now got better going themselves.

After a good hour, the FCS could have made the preliminary decision, but Kirilov did not take advantage of the preparatory work by Tulli and Cia and pushed the ball out of the goal past Furlan as he rushed out (62'). A little later, the 23-year-old Bulgarian was unlucky because after a buttery cross from Tulli, Kirilov headed the ball onto the crossbar.

Lumezzane equalizes – then Gliozzi makes everything clear

In football, those who don't take advantage of their chances often get the bill. And that's how it was in this game, which the FCS largely had in its hands. In the 82nd minute, substitute Sarao equalized from the penalty spot. Bertoni had brought down the attacker in the penalty area. Three minutes earlier, Miori had excelled at a Cruz shot and blocked the ball with his feet.

Just two minutes after the equalizer, Cia shot past Furlan after Girasole's assist. The ball came to Gliozzi, who was also denied by the home team's keeper.

In the final phase, events accelerated again. Because Gliozzi scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-1 for the guests and “save” three points for FC Südtirol. Then Cruz saw the red card.

FC Südtirol was in action on Saturday as part of the 12th round of the Lega Pro in Lumezzane. The White-Reds dictated the tempo, but had to wait until the 90th minute and Gliozzi's redeeming goal from the penalty spot to celebrate a “threesome”.
