BVB coach Nuri Sahin gets coaching license in Wales

The new Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin is studying in Wales to obtain the coaching license he is still missing.

This is reported by the "Ruhr Nachrichten". The 35-year-old only has an A license, which is why he acted as team manager and not as coach at his previous position in Turkey at Antalyasport. But that is not possible in Germany - in the Bundesliga every coach must have a UEFA Pro license or at least have already started the corresponding course, according to the rules of the game.

Sahin is therefore doing his license with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) to save time. In Germany, at least two years of work as an A-license holder is a prerequisite for taking part in the course. In Wales, however, one year is enough. Edin Terzic's successor now faces a double burden. The UEFA Pro License course lasts around 15 months.
