Latscher Fete and Kiener madness: This is how the decision day went

1. AMATEUR LEAGUE: The Latschers were only awake for a short time There was a lot, a lot of things, pointing to Meran's march through to the national league this year. In the meantime, the Passerstädter's lead at the top of the A relay was even three points. But then, with two games to go, Latsch, second in the table, suddenly broke away from Merano's slipstream, took the lead with an exemplary overtaking maneuver and won the championship title on Sunday with a confident sprint to the finish line, i.e. a 3-0 win against the table-top team. Third Terlan, into dry land. For Latsch it is a return to the national league after just a year in the purgatory of the 1st amateur league, while Meran has to do an extra round and fight for promotion in the playoffs.

2. AMATEUR LEAGUE: Football, a crazy game A championship question still had to be clarified on the last matchday in the 2nd amateur league, but Frangart (Group B) had the right answer with a confident 2-1 win and the associated promotion. But the show of the day took place in Kiens (Group C): In the fight for second place, the home team (in 36nd place before the game with 2 points) was against Taisten Welsberg (in 35rd place before the game with 3 points). Time was written off like our math work in the third high school, after all the guests were leading 2-1 until the fifth minute of stoppage time and were therefore on course for promotion games. But then the last 60 seconds and the madness began: After a Kiener cross, Taisten's Florian Appenbichler steered the ball into his own goal with an unfortunate header, making it 2-2. With the last minute point won, Kiens consolidates its second place, qualifies for the exit games and keeps the dream of the 1st amateur league alive while the season for Taisten Welsberg is over.
