5:4 win! Foxes push the door to the semi-finals wide open

The fact that 6000 people flocked to the ice wave on Sunday showed that the explosiveness of the quarter-final series between Bozen and Linz is hard to beat. Or the fact that Vallerand and Moderer had a fist fight after just three minutes. Or the fact that after a Linz goal, the song “Fuck You” played from the stadium microphones.

But otherwise, the fourth quarterfinals offered everything an ice hockey heart could desire. Bozen took the lead after just seven minutes thanks to a rebound goal from Oleksuk. As a result, a lively game developed in which Bozen conceded the equalizer shortly before the end of the third (Loik directed the disc into the net), but immediately took the lead again thanks to another rebound goal from Oleksuk.

Linz remains stubborn After the break, 67 seconds had passed when Da Silva gave us a cold shower - 2:2. Then a game on a knife's edge in which the goalkeepers on both sides excelled. It therefore took a dream goal from Vallerand to make the ice wave shake again: The Canadian showed all his class on the left and gave Ouzas a remarkable disadvantage. The 3-2 lead only lasted 59 seconds when Fechtig fed his colleague Oberkofler in front of the goal - and the score was back to zero.

In the final third, DaSilva from Linz missed two great chances right at the start, which was to take revenge shortly afterwards: Ouzas supposedly saved a Reid shot on the line - but after studying the video, the referees decided on a goal. The 4:3, the decision? No. Bozen then pulled back, but had to accept the equalizer through Hofer three minutes before the end. So extra time was needed - and Luca Frigo made everything clear after a Reid pass in the 8th minute.

Bolzano is now 3-1 in the series and can make it to the semi-finals in Linz on Tuesday evening.
