Dates fixed: The HCB can plan the 2017/18 season

On Friday, September 8th, 2017, the starting signal for the EBEL season 2017/18 will be given, which ends on April 22nd, 2018 at the latest with the last final game.

324 games until the start of the playoffs

The game mode remained unchanged: In the coming season, the basic round will also consist of two phases: Phase 1 includes 44 rounds (22 home and away games per team) and runs until Sunday, January 28, 2018. The top 6 will qualify after playing 264 games qualify for the playoffs early and then play in the pick round in a round trip round for the right to vote and play at home in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, the clubs in places 7 to 12 will fight for the last two playoff tickets in a return round in the Qualification Round. The intermediate round starts on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 and runs until Sunday, March 4th, 2018. The regular season (basic round + intermediate round) therefore includes a total of 54 rounds and guarantees each club 27 home games. The 2017/18 championship ends here for the four worst-placed clubs. The playoff pick with the top 8 teams takes place immediately afterwards.

After 324 games have been played, the playoffs start on Friday, March 9, 2018, which will be decided in the quarterfinals, semifinals and final in best-of-seven mode. The 22 Erste Bank Ice Hockey League champion will be determined by Sunday, April 2018nd at the latest.

Transfer deadline and international breaks scheduled

The transfer deadline for the coming season is March 1st, 2018. In the weeks from November 6th to 12th and from February 12th to 18th, the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League paused due to the International Break, which the national teams were given to prepare for the World Cup serves.

The Erste Bank Ice Hockey League has announced the general dates for the 2017/18 season. Accordingly, HC Bozen and the other 11 league participants will start the new season in exactly 114 days.
