SV Kaltern suffered a clear defeat in the top game of the Italian Hockey League. HC Eppan also came away empty-handed on Saturday evening, while the Toblach Icebears celebrated a real shooting festival at home.

SV Kaltern suffered a setback last week when Luca De Donà & Co. lost the cup final against Pergine. The next setback followed on Saturday, as the Hechte suffered a clear 0-4 defeat in the duel with the reigning champions Varese. The visitors from Lombardy struck once each in the first two thirds through Massimo Pietroniro and Alessio Piroso before Hector Majul and Gianluca Tilaro made the difference in the final period.

HC Eppan also had to struggle with offensive problems, suffering its fifth defeat in a row in Alleghe across all competitions. In the home team's 4-1 win, two from Val Gardena, Tobias Moroder and Gabriel Vinatzer, were on the scoresheet for Alleghe. Erno Räisänen scored the interim goal to make it 1:3.

The Dezsi Show

Led by Bence Dezsi, the Toblach Icebears celebrated a 6-1 win in the basement duel against Valpellice. The Hungarian shone with three goals. In addition to Dezsi, Patrick Rizzo, Alex De Lorenzo Meo and Lukas Klettenhammer were also successful.

Meanwhile, the Falcons Brixen are not getting anywhere in the Qualification Round. Christian Sottsas & Co. did well against leaders Feltre, but in the end they lost 3:4. The Falcons erased a 0-2 deficit with Alex Maunula and Mattia Covelli before Feltre scored a double within 21 seconds to decide the game. Luciano Zandegiacomo's goal did not bring about the hoped-for turnaround.
