South Tyrolean teams come away empty-handed

On matchday 10 in the Italian Hockey League (IHL), the three South Tyrolean representatives had to admit defeat. In their own four walls, Brixen lost to Pergine. Eppan (against Alleghe) and Toblach (against Como) also lost in the home ice rink.

The match day opened in Brixens, where the Falcons faced Pergine. The Trentino team was able to gain a decent lead in the first half of the game and were 20-3 ahead after 0 minutes. In the middle period, the Eisacktal team fought their way back into the game thanks to two goals from Mattia Covelli, but in the end they no longer had enough strength and Pergine hit the mark three more times. In the end, the South Tyroleans had to admit defeat 2:6.

Also the pirates Eppan didn't have much to cheer about. After just 5 minutes, the Überetscher were behind. 3 minutes before the first half-time tea, Riccardo Tombolato equalized to make it 1-1. In the middle period, however, the guests pulled away and scored 3 goals, while the blue and yellow were only able to celebrate once - namely in the 29th minute after a goal from Martin Graf.

In the final period, the guests managed their lead cleverly and secured the victory in the 52nd minute with Andreas Vinatzer's goal to make it 5-2. The final point still belonged to the host. In the 53rd minute, Noah Frick reduced the score to 3:5. For the 16-year-old, this was the first goal of his IHL career.

Toblach narrowly misses its first victory

The game was most exciting Toblach, where the Icebears met Como. In the basement duel it was 0-0 for a long time and it wasn't until the 32nd minute that the first goal of the evening came. After a pass from Hannes Monthaler, Mexican attacker Hector Majul made it 1-0 for the hosts. After 7 minutes of joy, the equalizer followed in the 39th minute. In the final section, head coach Roman Vanek's team gave (he was hired as the new coach during the week) everything and would have deserved the first three-pointer of the season, but the target didn't want to hit the net. In the end, the South Tyroleans went into extra time for the third time in this championship and this time too the opponent had luck on their side. In the 62nd minute, Roman Kizlo made it 2-1.
