Strong debut: Damian Clara shines as a goalie and assist provider

South Tyrol's goalkeeper hope Damian Clara made his season debut in the Allsvenskan, the second Swedish league, on Wednesday. The Pusterer not only shone in his own box, but also served as an assist provider.

There is an exciting time behind Damian Clara. At the end of June, 18-year-old Reischacher was drafted in the second round by NHL club Anaheim Ducks. However, the goalie will play the season in Sweden, where he will mature in peace. At second division club Brynäs IF, Clara sat on the bench in the first four games, but on Wednesday the time had come and he was allowed to make his debut.

This debut was almost perfect. Brynäs won 6-2 and was able to rely on very secure support. Clara blocked 35 shots and had a catch rate of 94,6 percent, which earned him much praise in the Swedish media. The teenager also slipped into an unusual role: When his team made it 2-0, Clara was credited with an assist because he initiated the action to score. This is how things can continue for South Tyrol's greatest ice hockey talent!
