Italy's ice hockey women celebrated their second victory at the World Cup in Riga.

Now the Azzurre are really going

Italy's ice hockey women played their fourth game at the World Cup in Division 1, Group B on Friday. They met the best team in the tournament so far.

Three games, three wins. The Slovakian ice hockey players have scored the maximum number of points so far. But now that's over: the Azzurre, of all teams, played extremely well against them and narrowly but deservedly defeated them 3-2.

The match winner for the Blue Team was Anna Caumo. The 22-year-old scored two of the three goals. The Azzurre were behind 0-1 and 1-2 at times, but showed great morale both times and came back. 30 seconds before the end of regular time, Caumo scored the 3-2 winning goal and let her team celebrate.

After two opening defeats (against Great Britain and Latvia), the Azzurre first defeated Poland and now also Slovakia. The chance of promotion to the A World Championship was still maintained, but it is very low as only the first place team will advance.
