World Cup opener in Neumarkt: Italy wins confidently
Italy's women's national team got off to a fabulous start at the U18 World Cup in the WürthArena.

The Azzurrine defeated Hungary 4-0 in their first group game on Saturday evening. In front of almost 300 spectators, Manuela Heidenberger and triple goal scorer Matilde Fantin led Italy to victory. At the back, goalkeeper Margherita Ostoni fended off all 27 shots from the Hungarians.
Italy has thus laid the first foundation for victory in the tournament, the second will follow on Sunday (16 p.m.) in the game against Austria. The players from the Alpine republic won 2-1 against France at the start. Japan also scored a 4-1 win against Denmark.
