These 12 biathletes will start at the opening

The first competitions of the new biathlon winter will start at the end of the month in Kontiolahti (FIN). The Italian winter sports association FISI has already announced who will compete for the Azzurri in the far north.

Although there are still 26 days until the start in Finland (November 30th to December 8th), Italy's squad is already set. Starting next Saturday, Lisa Vittozzi & Co. will train in the Martell Valley. The only exception is Dorothea Wierer, who will be preparing for the start with the men's team in Sjusjøen, Norway, starting Tuesday.

In addition to Wierer and Vittozzi, Klaus Höllrigl from Vinschgau has nominated four other Azzurre for Kontiolahti, including the two South Tyroleans Hannah Auchentaller and Rebecca Passler. Samuela Comola and Michela Carrara are also taking part. Beatrice Trabucchi is also currently training with the national team (because Wierer is with the men).

Six Azzurri will also compete in the men's category in Kontiolahti. In addition to Lukas Hofer and Patrick Braunhofer, Tommaso Giacomel, Didier Bionaz, Elia Zeni and Daniele Cappellari are nominated for Italy.
