World Cup opener: This is Italy's squad

This year's World Cup debut will take place on November 29th in Lillehammer (Norway). As usual, it will open with the Nations Cup.

At the end of November, the luge athletes will officially start this year's winter. Under the leadership of technical director Armin Zöggeler, 15 athletes will start the first stage of the season in Lillehammer.


Participants include Dominik Fischnaller, Ivan Nagler, Fabian Malleier, Emanuel Rieder, Loon Felderer, Alex Gufler, Simon Kainzwaldner, Lukas Peccei, Andrea Vötter, Marion Oberhofer, Annalena Huber, Nadia Falkensteiner, Verena Hofer, Sandra Robatscher and Nina Zöggeler.

A three-day training session will take place at the sports school in Mals for six athletes from the junior team. Philipp Brunner, Leon Haselrieder, Manuel Weissensteiner, Leo Hinteregger, Katharina Sofie Kofler and Alexandra Oberstolz will train at the Vinschgau facility from November 18 to 21.

The program in Lillehammer

On Friday, November 22nd, Italy's lugers will travel to Norway to prepare for the first event of the season. From November 29th to December 1st, the program includes individual competitions, doubles competitions and the mixed relay.
