Yanick Gunsch and Dominik Zuech passed the qualification on Tuesday for the race on Thursday. There will be no second opportunity for Gunsch on Friday, as the 26-year-old only finished 43rd on Wednesday (+ 1,89 seconds). 32 athletes qualify for the finals. Dominik Zuech, on the other hand, can celebrate: Thanks to his 26th place, he will also be chasing a top 10 placement on Friday.
In addition to Zuech, Simone Deromedis (18th) and Federico Tomasoni (20th) also secured the final ticket. The Frenchman Youri Duplessis Kergomard took the qualifying victory ahead of the Austrians Johannes Rohrweck and Johannes Aujesky. The German Daniela Maier set the best time for women. Hannah Schmidt (Canada) and Sandra Näslund (Sweden) made it to the final in second and third place respectively.
Galli injured
The Italian Jole Galli, who has been the best Italian ski crosser in recent seasons, did not take part in the race because she seriously injured her left knee a few days ago. The second World Cup athlete, Lucrezia Fantelli, is also currently out. The women's races in Val Thorens will therefore take place without Italian participation.Suggestions
