On Saturday and Sunday, the most important event in curling for club teams – the European Cup – will take place in the Intercable Arena in Bruneck. 20 men's and 16 women's teams from 6 nations are registered.

The best teams from each national competition were given the right to take part. Five women's teams and five men's teams will compete for the coveted title for the "Azzurri".

ESC Luttach once again organizes top international tournament After the successful major curling event of the Youth and Junior European Championships last March, the ESC Luttach once again took over the organization of the international curling tournament in one of the most modern ice sports venues in Europe.

The best teams from the last Italian team championship will compete for Italy. The teams from EV Stegen, EV Moritzing Seiwald, SC Seiser Alm, EV Niederdorf and SV Lana Raika will compete in the women's class. In the men's class, ESC Luttach, SV Teis, SV Völs, SC Seiser Alm and SV Kaltern were given the right to compete.

There are certainly medal chances for the local teams. At the 2023 European Cup in Regen, Bavaria, EV Eppan Berg won the bronze medal, while SV Lana won the last international women's medal at the 2022 European Cup in Amstetten.

The team of the organizer, ESC Luttach, is one of the favorites as the reigning Italian champions. The Ahrntal team also secured the title in the Bruneck ice arena. Another Pustertal team, EV Stegen, is the favorite in the women's category.

Perfect conditions for thrilling knockout duels The fact that they are hoping to win precious metal is also due to the home advantage. Several training sessions have already taken place in Bruneck so that the teams could optimally coordinate their playing equipment in advance. The official training for all teams will take place on Saturday from 7.30:XNUMX a.m.

The preliminary round matches on Saturday will determine the starting order for the knockout matches on Sunday. By being well positioned after the matches on Saturday, you will initially face a worse positioned team in the knockout round, which increases your chances of progressing.

Entry to the stands is possible at any time and there is no admission fee. Countless fans from home and abroad are expected.
