The championship title remains in Bolzano

The Eagles South Tyrol also won the second game of this year's final series and were once again crowned champions in Italian women's ice hockey.

It was a convincing performance by the Eagles, which the approximately 250 spectators witnessed on Saturday evening in the Sparkasse Arena. While it was Elenora Bonafini who scored three goals in the 8-0 win in the first leg, Aurora Abatangelo contributed four goals in the 10-0 win in Bozen. Annalisa Giuliani and Manuela Heidenberger each scored two goals, the other two went to captain Jacquie Pierri and Alessandra Weber. Canadian Olympic champion Laura Fortino contributed seven assists.

The surprise team of the season, USG Zoldo, tried hard at the beginning, but the home team's dominance was simply too great. However, after the score was 4-0 after the first third, the hopes of forcing the decider waned noticeably.

13th title in the 16th year of the club's history

The Eagles South Tyrol won the 13th championship title in their 16-year history. Since the first women's ice hockey championship in Italy 34 years ago, the Eagles have bagged more than a third of the titles.

The deputy mayor of the city of Bolzano, Dr. Stephan Konder, city councilor Christian Battisti and board member of the Italian Ice Sports Association Marcello Cobelli distributed the prizes.

The national players of the Eagles South Tyrol only have one day to rest, because on March 25th they are heading to Riga, Latvia, for the World Cup, which will be held there from March 31st to April 6th.
