HC Pustertal announces the next two departures

The Ice Hockey World Championships in Bolzano are finally history, and now the summer vacation begins. But HC Pustertal is already busy working on the squad for next season. On Thursday, the HCP reported two departures.

After Joel Messner and Christian Kasastul (who will play for KooKoo in the Finnish first league next season), the next defender at HC Pustertal was officially farewelled on Thursday evening. Ryan Stanton, who had a total of twelve points this season, has to go. The 34-year-old Canadian was brought in as the number 1 defender last summer, but he was far from living up to the high expectations.

But it's not just Stanton who will no longer wear the yellow and black kit in the 2024/25 season: Zach Sill will also no longer earn his living at HC Pustertal. The 35-year-old defensive center came to the Wolves from the Kölner Haien and also knew how to impress in the HCP jersey. He mostly went where it hurt and did a lot of dirty work. But he also knew how to impress offensively: 22 points are, despite everything, a stable result for Sill.

It is not known where the two oldies are headed. However, an end to their career cannot be ruled out - especially because of their age.
