Immense test of character from HC Pustertal

Both opponents had celebrated 5 wins each in the last 3 games and with the 5:2 the Wolves' most recent record has improved once again. What the Bruneck fans should particularly like: Thanks to the triumph, Armin Hofer & Co. moved into the top 10 and are fully on course for the pre-playoffs. At the same time, HC Bozen scored an easy win against Innsbruck.

While the black and yellow spectators were recently treated to some spectacular games, those present at the Dornbirn game can be proud of the team because of Bruneck's great fighting spirit.

The omens for the HCP were anything but good: Greg Carey, Jasse icons, Dante Hannoun and Stephan Deluca were missing one sick player from each attack line. In the previous meetings, both teams were able to achieve a clear victory, and the Black and Yellows also fondly remember their first ever win in their new home, when they defeated the Bulldogs in a penalty shootout.

In the starting third, the DEC was partially demonstrated and the Pusterers mostly cleverly and aggressively kept their opponents out of their own defensive third. Bulldogs goalkeeper David Madlener helped a lot to make it 2-0 and the third goal could have been prevented. In general, it was hardly noticed that there were 6 import players in the guests' squad defending. In the middle third there was a lot of idleness on the ice and the goals livened up the game to the delight of the 1000 admitted fans. The encounter once again showed that HC Pustertal has a close-knit and excellent team and has some players in its ranks who can decide games in this league. Raimo Helminen deserves special praise for being able to design such an efficient match plan at short notice.

Meanwhile, in Innsbruck, HC Bozen won its first game of the new year.
