Pustertal is bringing in Norwegians with famous first names

HC Pustertal has pushed forward its personnel planning for the fourth season in the ICE Hockey League. This time it's about a defender who should also play a proper role in the forward game.

This first name has a certain history in the Pustertal. Now it's no longer about the former world-class biathlete Ole Einar Bjørndalen, who caused a sensation in Antholz for years and was married to Nathalie Santer, but about his Norwegian compatriot Ole Einar Engeland Andersen.

Engeland Andersen has already played 29 international matches for his home country, including the 2023 World Cup in Tampere. The 25-year-old was born in Ingolstadt because dad Carl Oskar Boe Andersen was playing for ERC Ingolstadt in the 2nd Bundesliga at the time. The left-handed shooter (183 cm x 82 kg) spent his junior years overseas, joined the Norwegian league at the age of 21 and, in his 3 years with Storhamar and Stjernen, not only earned a call-up to the national team, but also a contract in the second Swedish league League. Engeland Andersen also scored continuously for AIK last season (20 points).

“I’ve only heard good things about the Pustertal and the fans from my friend Christian Kasastul.” Ole Einar Engeland Andersen

“In discussions with Coach Jaspers and the athletic management, it quickly became clear that the HCP has a precise plan for me and my role in the team. I want to use my offensive power to help us reach the playoffs and then go as far as possible. “I’ve only heard good things about the Pustertal and the fans from my friend Christian Kasastul,” said Engeland Andersen.

“Ole is a very talented offensive defender who has particularly demonstrated his skills in the Swedish Allsvenskan. “He will improve our offensive game and, above all, stand up for the power play,” concluded sporting director Patrick Bona.
