Incredible: 17 goals in an NHL game

An absolute curiosity happened last night (CET) in the best ice hockey league in the world. It happened on the Minnesota WIld ice rink

The Wild and the Vancouver Canucks played an extremely wild game. A total of 10 goals were scored in the 7:17 victory of the home team from the ice hockey-crazy US state of Minnesota. The last time there were more goals in an NHL game was in the 1995/96 season, when the Pittsburgh Penguins and the San Jose Sharks combined to score 18 goals.

The Wild won 10-7 (1-2, 2-3, 7-2) because they scored six times in 5:45 minutes from the end of the second to the beginning of the third period - the last time a team scored that many was 25 years ago Goals in even less time.

With Joel Eriksson Ek and Kirill Kaprizov, two Wild players scored a hat trick, and Canucks striker JT Miller achieved the same feat. Austrian Marco Rossi contributed a goal to Minnesota's victory. On the other side, the Swiss Pius Suter recorded three assists.
