HC Bozen won the 170th derby against the Puster Wolves 4-1, even without NHL star Mike Nylander. He wanted to change his already agreed contract in six points at short notice. However, Bozen was not prepared to grant the NHL star these privileges in order not to disadvantage the other players. In addition to Nylander, Talferstadt's Andrea Ambrosi (hip bruise), Christian Walcher and Enrico Dorigatti had to play. The latter was put out of action by the flu. The Wolves could not rely on the services of Joe Cullen. The duel between the two South Tyrolean clubs was attended by 2700 spectators in the MeranArena. There were also few highlights in the last part of the game - apart from a failure of one of the stadium lighting lamps, which is why the match was interrupted for a long time. In the last minute, the Rittners made cosmetic results when Durno and Daccordo made it 3-0 with two goals into the empty goal.

In the final third, Asiago initially took the lead again through Zanette. After that the game became hectic with lots of penalty times on both sides. Nevertheless, Valpellice increased to 4-1 with Marco Pozzi before Enrico Chelodi reduced the deficit again. In the third period, Fassa put everything on one card, even taking the goalkeeper off the ice in the final phase for a sixth skater. The courage of the Ladins was not rewarded, on the contrary: in the 59th minute, Anthony Aquino made it 5-2 and finally broke the neck of the Frycer team.

Adolf Insam made his debut at the Agorà Stadium on Friday evening and started his new Milan adventure with a home win against Pontebba. The Val Gardena coach had to do without Diego Iori and Ryan Kinasewich, but nothing stood in the way of Jordan Knackstedt being used. Daniele Odoni was missing from Pontebba, while Gerome Giudice's debut had to be postponed. The guests from Friuli played a little better in the first third, but Milan were initially barely able to put themselves in the spotlight in an underwhelming game. So it went into the first third break goalless. Milan didn't really get into the game in the second third either, but still took the lead after just over half an hour. Edoardo Caletti scored in the majority for the club from Lombardy. Pontebba didn't let the goal put him down, but Raycroft was always there. The match remained on a knife edge in the final third before De Marchi and Ryan wrapped up Milan's victory with two late goals.
