BVB remains a force at home

Borussia Dortmund has achieved the hoped-for breakthrough in the Bundesliga.

With the 2-1 (1-1) win against RB Leipzig, the recently struggling BVB celebrated its fifth win in five home games and at the same time inflicted the second-placed team's first league defeat of the season.

Maximilian Beier (30th minute) and Serhou Guirassy (65th) scored the goals for coach Nuri Sahin's team in front of 81.365 spectators, Benjamin Sesko (27th) had initially put Leipzig in the lead. Borussia Dortmund therefore remains a mystery. While the Black and Yellows have won all their home games so far, the reigning Champions League finalists have only picked up one point in four away games.

The Saxons, coached by former BVB coach Marco Rose, suffered another defeat after 19 games unbeaten across the season and are now three points behind FC Bayern in the table. With their first win after three consecutive defeats in competitive matches, BVB moved up to fifth place, at least temporarily.
