South Tyrol's women's footballers have increasingly made a name for themselves in the public eye in recent years. With Eva Schatzer (19), Katja Schroffenegger (32) and Elisa Pfattner (19), there are three players who have long since made their breakthrough with the “big ones”.

Katja Schroffenegger is the flagship of South Tyrolean women's football. The goalkeeper from Karneid has been traveling internationally for years and has played for numerous clubs in Germany and Italy. The soon-to-be 33-year-old is now active in Serie A for Fiorentina. There she shares the first role in goal with Rachele Baldi. So far this season, Schroffenegger has made 10 appearances, her rival has been in goal 8 times. In addition, the South Tyrolean is still represented in the Italian national team squad.

He was also nominated for the Azzurre Eva Schatzer. However, it hasn't been enough for him to play in the A team yet, but that should only be a matter of time. Instead, Schatzer is an important figure for the U19 national team. In everyday league life, Schatzer plays for Sampdoria. With the Ligurians she is currently fighting in the relegation playoff to stay in Serie A. The first game was won 5-0. Schatzer is a starter at Sampdoria and always starts. So far she has scored 2 goals.

However, it ended up abroad Elisa Pfattner. The 19-year-old has been loaned out to USV Neulengbach in Austria by her parent club Juventus. The Lower Austrians play in the Bundesliga and started the second half of the season at the weekend. There was a 2:3 defeat at the Hohe Warte against the women's team from First Vienna. The same applies to Pfattner: she is a top performer at Neulengbach and is almost always on the pitch. She has scored twice in 11 games.
