Juventus in second place after victory in Udine

Juventus Turin has taken second place in the Italian football championship, at least for one day. Milan also celebrated a victory.

Coach Thiago Motta's team won 2-0 (2-0) at Udinese on Saturday and leads the chasing pack of SSC Napoli, four points behind. The other top teams are not in action until Sunday or Monday.


An own goal by Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye (20th), from whose back the ball went into the net after a shot that hit the post, and Nicolo Savona (37th) scored the goals for Juventus, who remain unbeaten in Serie A.

In the evening, Milan beat Monza 1-0. Tijjani Reijnders scored the decisive goal in the 43rd minute. Bologna had previously won their third victory of the season with a 1-0 (0-0) victory against second-to-last Lecce. The winning goal was scored by Riccardo Orsolini (85th).
