FC Südtirol: Nothing to gain from the leaders

After two wins in a row, FC Südtirol suffered a small setback on Sunday. The white and reds had to admit defeat in Parma.

One thing first: The defeat in Parma is not a broken leg for the FCS. The Crociati showed on Sunday why they are leading Serie B by five points this year. FC Südtirol remains in the middle of the table. However, the defeat in Parma was well deserved. In the first half, the White-Reds were unable to find optimal access to the leaders, who were very happy to play.

In this form, Parma is well on its way to returning to Serie A. FCS coach Pierpaolo Bisoli surprisingly left Douda Peeters in the starting line-up for the four-time European Cup winners. The Belgian had recently impressed twice from the start. On Sunday he was substituted on for Jeremie Broh after an hour.

Daniele Casiraghi had to admit defeat with the FCS.

In the past, the FCS was always known for being able to trip up top teams. This time, however, Bisoli's team didn't have their best day, while their opponents were brimming with confidence. In the second half, Bisoli switched to a 3-5-2 (with Raphael Odogwu and Silvio Merkaj at the forefront) and his team improved. However, 15 minutes before the end, Odogwu missed the goal - after a nice lay-off from Fabian Tait.

The highlights

Cold shower Error by Broh, who serves the ball to Bonny in midfield. The Parma striker takes heart and shoots from 18 meters – 1-0 for the home team in the 9th minute.
penaltyDavi fouls Bernabé in the penalty area. According to VAR images there is a penalty for Parma. You stay ice cold from that point on. This is a small preliminary decision after almost an hour. It is the Romanian's 5th goal in the last 4 games.

FC Südtirol continues on Saturday with a home game against Pisa. A small downside for the FCS is the injury to Matteo Rover, who had to go out with a muscle injury shortly before half-time.
