Merano duo shines at the Italian mountain running championships

The first of two races of the Italian Mountain Running Championships took place on Sunday in Limana (Belluno). The spotlight was on the U20 athletes from the Meran Sports Club.

Emily Vucemillo and Anna Hofer showed a very strong performance on the 5 km long junior route and took second and third place. Local hero Lucia Arnoldo took the victory in 2 minutes, while Vucemillo from Merano and Hofer from Rabland stopped the time measurement in 3 and 25.16 minutes respectively. The Merano women confidently won the team competition. The second and last race (upward only) is scheduled for September 26.43th in Casnigo (Bergamo).


In the main women's race over 10 km, Martina Falchetti from Val Gardena came 21st, while Hannes Perkmann from Sarnen took a good eighth place in the men's race.
