Horrible images at the Olympics: Cyclist seriously injured
A serious fall by Kwesi Browne from Trinidad and Tobago overshadowed the Olympic competitions in Paris on the penultimate day.

The sprinter fell at high speed in the Keirin competition and hit his head on the wooden oval. Browne initially lay motionless on the track before being treated for several minutes.
The 30-year-old was then carried away on a stretcher. He raised his arm towards the audience, which was met with applause. Browne was apparently pushed off course by the Kazakh Andrej Chugaj, causing him to lose control.

There had already been a number of crashes in the Velodrome on the penultimate day of the finals. Several riders had already fallen in the Madison.
