A year ago, Jannik Sinner finally won the hearts of local tennis fans at the ATP Finals in Turin. At that time, the Sexten superstar beat the great Novak Djokovic for the first time in his career and reached the final. 12 months later, Sinner is the favorite going into the finals, which are considered the unofficial tennis world championships. The Pusterer has been number 1 in world tennis since June and celebrated his first two Grand Slam titles this year.
At the ATP Finals, the eight best tennis players of the year will choose their champion. In his group, Sinner will face Daniil Medvedev (ATP 4), Taylor Fritz (ATP 6) and Alex De Minaur (ATP 8). In the second group, Alexander Zverev (ATP 2), Carlos Alcaraz (ATP 3), Casper Ruud (ATP 7) and Andrey Rublev (ATP 9) will compete. The top two in each group will advance to the semifinals, which will take place in a week's time on Saturday. The grand final will be held on Sunday, October 17th.

After the draw, it is also clear that Sinner will only meet his great rival Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals or final. Defending champion Novak Djokovic will not be taking part this year, having cancelled his participation at short notice. Sinner will play his first match either on Sunday or Monday. The schedule should be announced shortly.
