Greener than Wimbledon: The “tennis court” on a Feldthurn alpine pasture

VIDEO | These South Tyrolean Sinner fans are the hit

Five friends from the Eisack Valley have come up with something special to give tennis star Jannik Sinner the best possible support in faraway Wimbledon. Their performance has now gone viral.

With an amusing video, which the five main actors themselves titled “This is how a South Tyrolean prepares for Wimbledon”, they send their best wishes to England, where Jannik Sinner will start the Wimbledon tournament next week as the number one in the world.

The approximately one-minute film shows the South Tyrolean tennis fans in a virtual grass match on a Feldthurn alpine pasture. Serving, smashing and returning takes place at the Radlsee, under the Latzfonser Kreuz and at the Königsanger, among other places.

According to the initiators, “the video was not professionally edited, but it was created with passion, dedication and enthusiasm. And of course, filming was great fun!”

The idea for the video came from Ewald Kerschbaumer from the Tonig Bar in Feldthurns. Together with his friends Arthur Kerschbaumer, Albert Torggler, Michael Kerschbaumer and Werner Braun, the project was gradually expanded and finally given a good dose of humor. The result is now delighting tennis fans in and outside of South Tyrol. And who knows, maybe it will really bring Jannik Sinner luck at the most important tennis tournament in the world.
