Before the final: Kyrgios insults Sinner’s girlfriend

Jannik Sinner will compete in the grand final of the US Open on Sunday from 20 p.m. Before that, tennis bully Nick Kyrgios caused trouble by insulting Sinner and his girlfriend.

Nick Kyrgios is known as a bully in the tennis world. Outbursts and excesses have characterized his career, which has now come to a standstill. That doesn't stop the Australian from continuing to cause trouble. He has had Jannik Sinner in his sights for some time.

When the Sextner's doping case became public, Kyrgios was the loudest of the players to rage against the South Tyrolean and demanded a two-year ban. Sinner reacted coolly as always and declared at a press conference that everyone should think what they want. But now Kyrgios has lashed out at Sinner again - and received a shitstorm online for it.

On the social media platform X, Kyrgios posted a poll asking who would win the US Open - Jannik Sinner or Taylor Fritz. Next to Sinner's name, the Australian added an emoji of an ointment or cream - a clear dig at the Sextner's doping scandal.

“Disgusting” comment against Kalinskaya

But that's not all. Sinner's girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya was also insulted by Kyrgios. As a reminder: The Australian bad boy and the Russian were briefly in a relationship some time ago. A user posted an old photo of the two of them and Kyrgios commented underneath: "Second serve".

Many users on Twitter took these words as a sexist joke from the Australian - and thus a veritable shitstorm rained down on Kyrgios. The fact that Kyrgios works for a television station at the US Open and makes such comments in particular heated tempers.

"It's absolutely disgusting," commented one user on social media. "How can the television station ESPN continue to employ a guy like that? First the bad words against Jannik Sinner, then the sexist joke against Anna Kalinskaya. That's disgusting," said another user. Kyrgios deleted the comment, but the tennis bully did not apologize.
