“We have a good relationship, but we are not close friends”

The final of the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner has once again amazed the tennis world. But what is the relationship like between the two off the court?

These pictures went around the world. Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz left for Shanghai together in a private jet after the final in Beijing ( here. (see picture). Despite all the rivalry, the two best tennis players currently seem to get along well. That's why a journalist in Shanghai asked Alcaraz about this topic at the press conference.

"Jannik and I travel a lot with our teams. We don't talk to each other regularly or a lot. When we see each other, we don't just talk about tennis, but also about life. We have a good relationship, but we're not close friends. In any case, we have a lot of mutual respect," explained Alcaraz.

The 21-year-old has proven this time and again, as he was recently questioned about the doping case involving Sinner. The Spaniard has not publicly criticized the South Tyrolean. This also shows mutual respect. It is not for nothing that many compare the relationship between the two to that of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
