WTA Finals with Sabalenka & Co: Half is certain

The WTA Finals begin in Cancun at the end of October. 4 tennis players have already qualified for the season highlight in Mexico.

With world number one Aryna Sabalenka (BLR), four-time major winner Iga Swiatek (POL), US Open champion Coco Gauff (USA) and Jelena Rybakina (KAZ), half of the field for the WTA Finals has been determined.

The best eight tennis women of the year will take part in the “Masters” from October 29th to November 5th in Cancun, Mexico. Sabalenka took over number one in the rankings for the first time since the US Open.

The player from Belarus is taking part in the finals for the third time in a row and was in the final in Fort Worth (USA) last year. French Open winner Swiatek is also playing her third “Masters” and has never made it past the semi-finals. Gauff, who was eliminated in her debut in the group stage last year, has even secured her place in singles and doubles. The 19-year-old American plays with compatriot Jessica Pegula, who will probably also make it to the singles. Former Wimbledon champion Rybakina is the first Kazakh player ever to take part for the first time.
