Hofer and Passler triumph in Antholz

The final sprints were on the program on Sunday at the Italian Biathlon Championships in Antholz. Rebecca Passler and Lukas Hofer triumphed.

There were 8 athletes in the women's category. However, the big names like Lisa Vittozzi and Dorothea Wierer were missing. Snatched the victory Rebecca Passler, who had already triumphed in the mass start on Saturday. Italian championships just seem to suit the woman from Antholz. Michela Carrara came second and Samuela Comola came third.

Passler made a mistake at the shooting range, but at the finish he had a lead of 50 seconds over Carrara (2 errors) and 53 seconds over Comola (no errors). The second local hero, Hannah Auchentaller (3 errors), came fifth.

The other South Tyroleans: Patrick Braunhofer (one mistake) came fourth and David Zingerle (two mistakes) fifth. There were 10 athletes in the men's elite class.
