A painful separation for Marco Odermatt

Marco Odermatt has outshone everything this ski season. But now the Swiss superstar is losing an important companion.

Marco Odermatt is not only a highly talented skier, he is also a model athlete par excellence. The 1,84 meter tall Swiss is bursting with endurance, strength and muscles. The fact that Odermatt achieved this physical form is a great achievement of Kurt Kothbauer. He has been Odermatt's fitness coach for years and is partly responsible for turning the petite teenager into a top athlete.

But now they part ways - at the request of successful coach Kothbauer. “From my point of view, I got the most out of Marco. I wouldn't know how to make it any better. And that’s why Marco needs new input from another trainer,” says Kothbauer View cited.

The former discus thrower and shot putter from Austria will face a new challenge in the ski circus. There should be no shortage of interested parties, after all, Kothbauer also got Hermann Maier fit during his career - a star who was known for his athletic strength.

Marco Odermatt regrets saying goodbye: “It's really a shame because Kurti and I worked perfectly together. I owe him a huge amount, his training methods are absolutely brilliant. But I can very well understand that he is looking for a new challenge,” says the 26-year-old Look.
