After just 50 days: Sofia Goggia is dancing through spring

Just 50 days after doctors repaired her leg, Sofia Goggia is dancing and welcoming spring.

On February 5th, Goggia had a serious fall during training in Ponte di Legno and suffered multiple fractures of the tibia and fibula (SportNews berichtete). The result: The 31-year-old had to end the season immediately and was operated on shortly after her accident. Particularly bitter since she was leading the downhill rankings in the World Cup at the time.

The northern Italian then presented herself on Instagram with an unsightly scar on her shin and crutches and wrote: “If this is the plan that God has reserved for me, I can do nothing but open my arms, welcome him and close him accept.” There is no trace of bitterness about her setback.

The update

Just 50 days after these pictures, the Azzurra appears visibly relieved in an Instagram video and dances through the garden with her dog. Scenes that one would not have expected so quickly shortly after their horror crash. She writes: “50 days later and back on my feet. Happiness is when doctors take your burden away.” Nothing should stand in the way of the coming season.

With four downhill crystal balls, an Olympic gold medal and numerous World Cup victories, Goggia is one of the top athletes in the world.
