“Continuing to live without you breaks my heart.”

The stroke of fate of ski superstar Wendy Holdener has moved the ski world in the last few days. Now the Swiss woman says goodbye – with words that get under your skin.

In terms of sport, Wendy Holdener has become quiet in recent weeks, as the Swiss is currently missing the World Cup due to injury. The fate of the world champion and Olympic champion has recently moved the ski world a lot. Holdener's brother Kevin died a few days ago. He suffered from a rare cancer for years, and last week he lost the battle at the age of just 34.

Particularly tragic: Shortly before his death, Kevin Holdener fulfilled his last wish in the hospital and married his long-time girlfriend. “You always followed your plans and lived your life to the fullest. In your last act you married your fiancée. As happy as you look in these beautiful pictures, we will keep you in our hearts,” the family wrote on Instagram.

Now Wendy Holdener has also spoken out on her personal profile. She posted a black and white photo of herself and Kevin and wrote: “This is our last picture together. I can't and don't want to believe that you're gone. It breaks my heart to think that I have to go on living without you.”

These are words that get under your skin. And which touched the ski world deeply. Numerous friends from the ski family reached out to the posting and expressed their condolences to the Swiss woman. A tragic story.
