That was close: Visintin missed the podium

Omar Visintin from Algunder had to make do with an unpleasant 4th place at the Snowboard Cross World Cup in Gudauri (Georgia).

With 10th place in the qualification, Visintin confidently made it into the round of 32 of the best 4. There he came out on top in his 2-man heat. By finishing second in the quarterfinals he made it to the semifinals. He also took second place there.

In the exciting Big Final, there wasn't much left for the podium: In a close race in which the Algunder was still in third place after the first intermediate time, he ultimately had to settle for fourth place. The victory went to the Canadian Eliot Grondin, who was able to prevail over the Austrian Alessandro Hämmerle and the Australian Cameron Bolton, who ended up in second place at the same time.

There was also a 4th place for the “Azzurre” among the women: the Lombard Michela Moioli, still on course for the podium after the 3rd intermediate time, fell back to 4th place in the last section. The victory went to the Frenchwoman Chloe Trespeuch. The Czech Eva Adamczykova came in second place, the Swiss Sophie Hediger made it onto the podium in third place.
