VIDEO | In the derby: This boxing match makes the arena shake

On Friday evening, HC Bozen won the second derby of the season against HC Pustertal. The main topic of conversation afterwards was the spectacular boxing match that rocked the Intercable Arena.

Cristiano DiGiacinto has been playing for HC Bozen since February. So far he has scored five goals for the White-Reds. However, it is doubtful whether the Canadian has ever celebrated as loudly as he did on Friday in the 40th minute. It was not a goal that sent the 28-year-old into ecstasy, but a boxing match like in the good old days.

Shortly before the second break, emotions boiled over in the derby between Pustertal and Bozen. The highlight: DiGiacinto's brawl with Pustertal's Viktor Svedberg. At first glance, an unequal duel, after all, Svedberg measures an incredible 2,06 meters and is therefore 23 centimeters taller than DiGiacinto (1,83 meters).

DiGiacinto cheers and provokes

At the beginning, the Bozen player had to take a few hits, but then he wiped out the Pustertal giant several times. In the end, the points victory went easily to DiGiacinto, who was cheered by the 300 or so Bozen fans who had travelled with him as if he had scored a goal.

Here are the highlights of the match and the boxing match (from minute 2.55)

The Bozen striker clearly enjoyed this moment – and did not miss the opportunity to provoke the Pustertal fans as he left for the dressing room. This was the emotional climax in the spectacular derby between HC Pustertal and HC Bozen, which the Foxes won 4-2.
