Schwarz hopes for comeback before the turn of the year

After returning to pole training, Marco Schwarz hopes to make a comeback before the turn of the year.

"Of course it would be a big goal to return to the World Cup this calendar year," said Schwarz, but at the same time noted: "It's not a wish list. It's been a very hard road so far and I still have a lot to do before I'm ready for the World Cup again."

The Carinthian returned to skiing at the end of October after a 300-day break due to two serious injuries (torn cruciate ligament, slipped disc). The next step was the first sessions through the poles. "First of all, being back on snow and then back in the gates was a big milestone, but of course there is still a lot to do," said the multiple World Championship medalist to ServusTV.

Franz on the way back

Max Franz is also making progress on his long ordeal. The speed specialist completed his first pole training session on Tuesday, two years after his horror crash in the USA in which he broke both lower legs, as the Carinthian happily announced on Instagram.
