Marcel Hirscher has done it, Lucas Braathen too – and soon Lindsey Vonn will do it too. Three skiing greats have returned to skiing after retiring and are once again part of the World Cup. Now the Raich couple are also causing a lot of speculation: Benjamin and his wife Marlies (née Schild) are also fuelling the rumors about a comeback.

On Friday, Marlies Raich – who is one of the best slalom skiers in history with four small crystal globes – a video showing her training. "Back between the gates," wrote the 43-year-old mother of three in the short clip. A day later, her husband Benjamin Raich, himself a two-time Olympic champion, followed suit. The 46-year-old also published a video in which he can be seen training for slalom.

"Something is happening with us right now. I'm looking forward to telling you more soon," was Raich's cryptic message. Will the dream ski couple make a sensational comeback? Or is the whole thing just a marketing gimmick? The skiing world is speculating wildly about it, and countless comments are piling up under the posts on Instagram. Olympic champion Julia Mancuso commented on Marlies Raich's post: "You're coming back too!!!! I have to go back to training too!"

Whether this is really an attempt at a comeback by the two Austrian stars remains to be seen – and may even be doubted. In any case, the two will soon solve the mystery.
