Super Bowl winner at Trump, but the star isn't going
US President Donald Trump welcomed the Philadelphia Eagles football players to the White House. Trump congratulated the team on their Super Bowl victory in early February. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, the team's star, was absent from the event; he hadn't traveled to the capital.

Last week, at a Time magazine gala, when asked if he would attend, Hurts responded with a long silence and then left.
Nevertheless, the president praised the quarterback as a "great guy and a great player." According to unofficial information from the White House, Hurts, like several other players, cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for his absence.
The Eagles had won the Super Bowl with a 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Trump was the first sitting U.S. president to attend the stadium in New Orleans and support the Chiefs. During his first term, the Eagles had forgone a visit to the White House after winning the Super Bowl for the first time in 2018.
