The Philadelphia Eagles are making history

Historic success for the Philadelphia Eagles in the North American NFL: The 2024 Super Bowl winners won 29-18 against the Washington Commanders, becoming the first team since 2004 to win the NFC East division title for the second time in a row.

After a balanced start, the Eagles increasingly took control in the second half. A touchdown pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts to tight end Dallas Goedert gave the visitors their first lead at 14-10. The powerful running back Saquon Barkley extended the lead with a 12-yard run – and watched as his team pulled away decisively to a 29-11 lead in the fourth quarter.

Washington already had no chance of making the playoffs before the game.

Bears tie the game against Packers late

Another game was even more exciting: After trailing for much of the game, the Chicago Bears only managed to tie the game against the Green Bay Packers seconds before the end of regulation – and then turned the game around in overtime to win 22-16. With two more wins, the Bears will have secured the NFC North title.

In windy Soldier Field in Chicago, it was Green Bay's backup quarterback Malik Willis who committed a crucial turnover in overtime. Chicago recovered the ball and scored a touchdown on four plays.
